THE CONQUEST OF SPACE

Fruit Flies, frogs and dogs are only a few of the many animals man has sent into space. The short documentary The Conquest of Space tells the story about the chimpanzee Ham that was sent to space some months before Gagarin became the first man in space. Based on archival footage from NASA and National Archives, The Conquest of Space is a tragicomic look at the space program and the animals that went into space before humankind. Awarded best short doc at Tempo Documentary Festival, Stockholm, Sweden. Curiosity and Control explores the ethics of collecting and how nature

is presented within the world of zoological gardens and natural history

museums. This publication is a complement to the documentary film, including

a link to the film, photographs and interviews with zoo directors David Hancocks

and Michel Saint-Jalme, architects Sue Chin and Kieran Stanley, museologist 

Peter van Mensch and philosopher Dale W Jamieson. With an afterword by

author Helena Granström.

THE IMAGE’S POWER-PHOTO SEMINAR

In this year’s photo seminar we meet photographers and artists from different

parts of the world who talk about their work and their thoughts on illuminating

and questioning power structures in society. All interpersonal relations are characterised by social hierarchies and power relationships of various kinds.

RIVERS, DREAMERS

Albin Biblom was commissioned by Stockholm Council´s Culture Administration to make artwork in the new cancer treatment building in Karolinska Solna, Stockholm, Sweden. Throughout  the rooms nature is the theme, occasionally with interwoven quotes by Marie Curie. Part of the artwork has been placed in radiation-proof care rooms. Completed in the spring of 2018.
